The Fundamentals.
The First Fundamental, the most basic premise of Kalinism (insofar as there is such a thing), is that for the long-term life of the planet and for the long-term good of mankind, and therefore in accordance with the will of a wise eternal God, it is not only right but absolutely essential that the human population be reduced by perhaps as much as half. Like the controversy over whether or not we are going to destroy the planet with global warming, there is plenty of good sound ecological and sociological opinion out there posing as science declaring that with proper resource management, the planet could support another ten billion people. Whether or not that is true, whatever true means in terms of such speculation, the Kalinist position is based on taking it as axiomatic that the recent huge increase in the human population is responsible for large-scale destruction to the life of the planet, and only the rapid and radical reduction of that population will prevent that destruction from becoming irreversible, and fatal to the entire human race. That is, the Kalinist is faced with the task of killing not a few dozen, a few thousand, or even a few million, but billions of people.
The Second Fundamental is that people are different, and their lives are of different worth to the planet and it’s surviving inhabitants, that is, more valuable to the future. Though all such value judgments are a matter of one’s viewpoint and opinion, there is widely held agreement that some people are of lesser, or even negative worth. The execution of certain classes of criminals is an example of this agreement in action. Terra is better off without them. The new question is not whether or not to so evaluate them, or even how to evaluate them, so much as where to draw the line. If Terra is better off without them… then off them.
The Third Fundamental is that the Libertarian utopia is the final goal of all Kalinist action, the “good end” which justifies the horrors of the means. Lifestyles may differ, but the only social structure that accommodates them all is that which is created to guarantee Libertarian freedom for the individual based on respect for each other’s personal rights. This fundamental Third principle is more accurately an opinion, as the Second is an observation, and the First is pseudo-scientific dogma taken as axiom.
Kalinists live with the paradox of striving to create and to live in a world of peaceful Libertarian non-aggression, and to make that possible, conducting a covert mission of the most extreme homicidal violence against people who may be innocent of aggression themselves. In its ideological mode, it is like the hippie movement, about frugal and respectful libertarian existence in low population environments connected by sophisticated communication equipment, and with small high-tech dome towns conducting industry, enabling a rich virtual world in a peasant-perfect physical environment. In its practical mode, it is about propagating that ideology and personally putting it into action, that is, taking whatever steps are available to bring about the death of as many people as possible, hopefully with a high degree of selectivity. That means perhaps the risk of entering into guarded conspiracies for big actions, or perhaps taking offices which control great lethal power. Certainly at the personal level it means becoming a serial killer. Applauding the works of others who kill many is an inevitable step in the process of the novitiate, but though the courts may call you a Kalinist for applauding the wrong name in public, you are still only a spectator until you have the bones.
